Services this garage provides
Terrible company. They have had my car for over three weeks. During that time, their communication has been awful. When I call, I have been fobbed off and told someone would call me back, then silence. Eventually, I got a message on my mobile last Saturday telling me they still hadn't fix my car, but would call me back on Monday. It is now Friday and still nothing. I would avoid the company like the plague.
I spoke to Mr Kingham on the phone requesting a second key for our Ibiza. He quoted £240 for key and programming it to the car. Booked it in for that and a 2nd year service. Delivered the car tuesday afternoon so they would have it on the wednesday and was assured they would contact me when it was ready. It takes me about an hour to travel to them so at 3.30 ish I phoned them to enquire if car was ready. Yes all has been finished and it is all ready to go, However when I arrived they couldn't locate my car. They assumed it was still with the valeter even though i had been informed it was ready!! After 20 minutes or so they found still on a ramp. I was then asked if I still wanted it to be valated. As it is a free part of the service I agreed to wait. In the meantime I got my bill. The key had been charged at £336.17 which is 40% higher than quoted by the boss. I obviously queried it but was told in no uncertain terms that this price was correct and perhaps Mr Kingham didn't include the cost of programming the key. So I left feeling a little ripped off. Even worse to rub salt into the wound when I checked the service book I found they had not stamped it.
I also have a Leon which is booked in for a 2nd year service in a couple of weeks. I wonder if they will be good enough to stamp both service books for me. Hopefully they will do better at keeping in touch as last year when this car was serviced they didn't call me when it was ready.
lost the edge
slow to diagnose the problem and far to long to fix it charged for 11 hours to replace a clutch! The car was handed back in a filthy condition and at reception everything was too much trouble. They appear to be relying on a past repetition that they no longer live up to.
Great customer service, very friendly people :)
I very rarely buy cars from garage or the motor trade in general because of poor experiences with pushy salesmen, dishonest descriptions of vehicles and so on but I can wholeheartedly recommend Kinghams. From the receptionist to the owner himself everyone was pleasant, helpful, professional and reassuringly knowledgable. I find some of the negative reviews difficult to understand given my experience today - I would happily buy from them again :)
I walked into Kinghams in Croydon not knowing what kind of service I was going to get but all I can say is that they was friendly and helpful they know what they are selling so that helps as well. I brought a new wrx sti from them and need to wait 2 months for it but they kept me updated all the time, also I believe you should treat people the same as would like to be treated and feel they think the same. It is a family run dealer and make you feel welcome all the time I would recommend them and return to them aswell....... Thanks again Keith, Caran and Mike
