Services this garage provides
5 STAR GUYS
After being let down by my regular garage for a routine service and MoT for my aged Volkswagen I searched for another garage locally and found Citroemech. I was immediately impressed by their positive and helpful attitude and took the plunge and booked my car in for the above works.
I couldn't have wished for a better service, I was kept informed of work required and provided with available options and a clear and simplified explanation that even I could understand.
My car passed its MoT and I am now a happy chap.
If you are looking for a reputable garage then there is no need to look further, these guys are great, I will certainly be back again.
IMHO a 5 star garage
My family and I and have been using this garage for more than 25 years. In that time I have never had cause for complaint and work has always been completed in a timely manner, reasonable cost and to a high standard. This is an efficient and friendly garage with most of the staff being long term employees which says a lot these days, most of which I have come to know very well.
Our family members have over the years, sign posted friends and anyone looking for a decent garage in the Wokingham area to Citroemech and have never received any negative comments back only positive ones and most still use the services of Citroemech to this day. The next time you visit this garage, take a look at the notice board in the waiting area and you will always find any number of current thank you letters from satisfied customers for good work done but also from charitable organisations which the owner has raised money for, he has a great charity ethos and is a good employer, he treats his staff well.
I was taken to this garage on the recommendation of the recovery guy when my car broke down. My experience was poor at best. Initially they said that they would probably be able to look at it for me on the day it was taken in, as they were busy, I thought fair enough. Although when I arrived in the morning there were several members of staff doing nothing in the garage? One was sweeping up some mess and the rest were shuffling papers or making tea, it seemed like they needed the work to fill their time. When I later called them to see if it was likely they could look at it on the day Dave on the end of the phone was extremely unhelpful. Firstly he said he could not guarantee that the car would be checked, so I asked how many cars they had to work on before they could view mine. Answer not obtained. Then I asked for an estimate of price on the works based on what the AA recovery man said to the garage. Dave said that he could not provide such information as he wouldn’t know what needed doing prior to looking at the car. Fair enough, but some simple information on charges should be disclosed in order for me to assess costs. I had to badger Dave to obtain the hourly labour charge rate as well as the cost for the bolt required as per the assessment of the AA man. Dave became increasing ignorant and rude to me for what seemed a simple and straight forward information request, which I have had no trouble obtaining from other garages in the past, ridiculing me for asking what he deemed preposterous and unquantifiable questions. Based on the discussion I had with Dave alone I would not recommend this place for the poor customer service I experienced and the unwillingness to provide any charging details in order to understand potential costs of the fix.
Then after I had a call to say that they had found a bolt to fix the car, that when charging the car battery the alternator was heating and they were fearful that it would melt engines wires (didn’t specify which wires) and that I would need a new alternator altogether. Having seen the review on findmeagarage.co.uk I was reluctant to allow this work and sort a second opinion. I drove the car away to another garage to find that a new alternator was not required and everything seems fine and works accordingly. That was an addition £250 on parts + £68ph labour charges saved with what I can only imagine a bill of at least £318 saved when trying to be fleeced by this garage. I would not recommend this garage in any way shape or form for any work on your car. £100 to replace a bolt seems extortionate to me. I will never go there again. If, for some reason, you have to use this garage I would only liaise with a gentleman called Ray whom seemed more understanding and rational about standard customer service levels.
Afraid to say used to be good but you will now get better vaule at a main dealer
Had my vehicle serviced for quite a few years by Citromech. However had a few problems with work not being done to a reasonable standard some work not done at all. ie vehicle had an engine problem they ran diagnostics (very quick to do) told me the codes reset codes, problem still existed, cgarged me again full proce for diagnostics and re set and re charged no hint of trying to find the cause. Serviced Aircon £90+ aircon failed by the time I got home. Had to give up
I just wanted to say Thank You to you all for ensuring that I was safe and able to drive home with confidence after you fixed and changed my tyres.
Knowing that I had another two and a half hours in the car to get me home you made sure that I was safe and that was extremely reassuring.
Polite, kind and extremely efficient.
